Eglingham Parish Geography

The present Parish of Eglingham was formed in the 1980s and is part of Longhoughton Ward. It lies in North Northumberland and has a varied, attractive landscape of moorland and rolling farmland. There are two small villages, Eglingham and South Charlton plus a number of smaller settlements as well as about 25 farms. There are 385 residents in the parish living in 161 households. Livestock farming predominates with arable crops on the better land.
